A Hypnosis Primer Hypnosis is a very powerful and useful tool to assist you in empowering and transforming your life. It has been said that we only use 10% of our brain's power. I believe this to be true. Hypnosis is a tool to tap "the other 90%." | I have used hypnosis to: quit smoking, lose weight, stop drinking, eat healthfully, exercise (and enjoy it!), motivate myself for success, and best of all, to think positively. Are you ready for change? The following will answer some of the more common questions and clear up some of the most common misconceptions about hypnosis. |
|
What is Hypnosis? As you may have heard before, your mind is divided into two parts, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is your critical faculty. It is the part of your mind that sorts and analyzes incoming data. It is the mind you actively think with all day long. It is the little voice inside your head that is now saying, "Oh, that makes sense."
The subconscious mind contains all your wisdom, memories and intelligence and is the source of your creativity. It regulates your body's autonomic functions such as breathing, heartbeat, and blood circulation. It is the seat of your emotions and directs nearly all of your behavior. The subconscious mind is what we want to get in touch with when we are in hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state that allows excellent communication with the subconscious mind through the use of suggestions. When the critical faculty (conscious mind) is quieted during trance, new ideas may be put to a person which, if accepted, result in new patterns of behavior.

What is a Hypnotic Trance? Every day, many times a day , you are in trance. And it is a perfectly natural state to be in. Remember the feeling of driving down the freeway, shaking your head and wondering, "Hmm, I don't remember driving this far. How did I get here?" Or that movie you saw last night that you were totally engrossed in and someone called your name and you didn't hear them because you were so involved? These are examples of hypnotic trance. Trance, simply put, is an internal focusing. You are not asleep. You are just completely internally involved. You are not under my power. You will not go out and rob a bank if I told you to in hypnosis. You will only do whatever is in your personal comfort zone, moral code, or value system. You will not forget everything that happens in trance. You will remember everything, unless I give you a suggestion to forget (and you want to forget). You always have a choice. You will always come out of trance. Sometimes you may not want to because you might feel so wonderfully relaxed, but you will come out of trance. You will not tell me any secrets you do not want to tell me. As a matter of fact, you will not do anything you do not want to do!

Pricing for Sessions
My regular single session rate for adults is $125 for a 90-minute first session and $100 for 60-minute sessions after that. Kids’ (under 18) sessions are $80 and are 45-60 minutes each. Cash (preferred), checks, and PayPal are accepted. Office hours are flexible, but typically Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm. Phone appointments are available as well. Please call me for details.
On average, I see folks three to six times. Some things are a little more complex than others and can take more sessions. Most folks enjoy refreshers after the "therapy" is over, and they typically come once a month, just for the fun and relaxation of it. But it is completely up to you!
My smoking cessation package is the only exception to the price for three sessions. The price for that is $425 Please click on the link to see the details of this marvelous package.
