A Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Primer
One of the best descriptions of NLP I have ever heard, I ran across in an NLP journal called Anchor Point. This description is from Jake Eagle:
NLP is the study of subjective experience. That's what Grinder and Bandler (the creators) were doing, they were studying subjective experience by playing around, testing, and discovering how people create their inner worlds. How do I scare myself? How do I motivate myself? How do I calm myself? And, not only how do I do these things, but how do YOU do them?
The result of this process of keen inquiry was to identify patterns of behavior, thought, and language. By selectively and thoughtfully altering people's patterns-the structure of their thoughts-one could alter their subjective experience.
How does this apply to my work with you? I incorporate the tools and techniques of NLP right into my hypnotherapy, making the hypnotherapy much more powerful and potent.
A fabulous website for reading and studying NLP with the largest NLP encyclopedia in the world available at no cost is www.nlpu.com.
